This resort is truly a gem, especially if you’re looking for a family-friendly experience with plenty of amenities. The cabins were spacious enough for our group, and the entertainment options kept all of us busy and engaged. However, the dining reservation process could use improvement, as it caused some stress during our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful family getaway, and I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Rooms

We stayed in the family cabins which comfortably accommodated our group of 8. They were well-equipped and spacious, making our stay enjoyable.
Service
7.0
Service was generally good, with timely responses to our requests. However, there were a few hiccups with the dining reservations that could be better managed.
Location

Dining at Cedar's Restaurant was delightful, with a great variety of high-quality food, though I did experience some stress with online reservations.
Facilities

The amenities were fantastic, including a warm pool and a calming spa. The kids club was a standout feature for families.

We had high hopes for our 25th Anniversary weekend at the resort, but it ended up being disappointing. While our room was spacious with a beautiful view, the absence of air conditioning during the hot weather was a downside. The Cedars restaurant for breakfast did not meet our expectations, but we enjoyed the spa and treetop restaurant. Overall, it's unlikely we'll return to this resort.

Rooms

The room was spacious and had a lovely view, but unfortunately, it lacked air conditioning.
Service

The service felt generic, lacking special touches for our anniversary.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of highs and lows. While the location is stunning, right on the beach and surrounded by beautiful scenery, the room cleanliness and outdated decor were underwhelming. The staff's service was inconsistent, which detracted from the experience, but the spa itself provided a fantastic massage. Overall, it was a decent getaway, but I might seek alternative accommodations next time.

Rooms
5.0
The room we stayed in was outdated and lacked cleanliness, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
Service was inconsistent; while some staff were polite, others seemed disinterested and miscommunicated information.
Location
9.0
The hotel is located right on the beach, allowing easy access to beautiful surroundings and nature trails.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were limited, with only a set menu available during my stay, which was a bit pricey for what was offered.
Facilities
7.0
The spa facilities were nice but felt outdated, although the massage treatment was exceptional.

6.2/10

My stay at Tigh Na Mara was somewhat disappointing, mainly due to its outdated facilities and lack of convenience. The beautiful view from my room was a highlight, but overall, the resort felt more like a family destination than a spa getaway. While the staff seemed friendly, the dining options were quite limited and the amenities didn't quite meet expectations given the price. The spa services were a redeeming factor, especially the massage, but the overall experience left much to be desired.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in had a gorgeous view, but it felt very outdated. The furnishings and decor seemed like they hadn't been updated in decades, and the mattress was in dire need of replacement. It was comfortable enough for the stay but definitely not luxurious.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and professional; however, I encountered some awkwardness during the check-in process, which could have been handled better. Overall service was decent but lacked the attention to detail I expected.
Location
8.0
The resort is situated in a beautiful area right next to Rathtrevor Beach. However, during the off-season, some nearby facilities were closed or limited, which made things less convenient.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were rather underwhelming, especially since the resort only offered a set menu during certain times. The pizza was the main take-out option, and it didn't feel substantial for the price.
Facilities
6.0
While the spa had some nice amenities, like the grotto pool, it felt old and in need of urgent updates. There were limited food options on-site, which was disappointing for a resort trying to position itself as a spa destination.

We had a good stay, but the cabin we booked was smaller than expected and less private being right by the parking lot. On the upside, the beach was amazing, and we had a fantastic dinner at Cedars. Overall, it was a mixed experience, balancing decent amenities with some downsides.

Rooms
5.0
The two-bedroom cabin was a lot smaller than I anticipated. The bedrooms were quite cramped, making it difficult to walk around the beds, and the living area felt tiny as well. Unfortunately, it lacked privacy since it was located right by the hotel parking lot.
Service
6.0
I didn’t have too much interaction with the staff, but my experience was generally neutral. There was a sense that they were managing a busy environment, and while they were not unfriendly, they could have been more welcoming.
Location
9.0
The beach was simply fantastic. Being right next to it allowed for easy access to gorgeous views and walks along the shoreline.
Dining
9.0
Dinner at Cedars was excellent; I really enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere there. It definitely stood out as one of the highlights of my stay.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had some nice amenities, though the cabin itself was lacking in space. However, it was cozy and oceanfront, which added to its charm.
